Who is he

Ken Kaneki is the main protagonist of the story, a 19-year-old college student who receives an organ transplant from Rize, who is trying to kill him before the pillars fall on her.  But after the operation, Kaneki has tendencies and qualities similar to those of ghouls, just as his hair turns from black to white, after realizing that he has become a half-ghoul and half-human, his suffering begins to hide the identity of the ghoul and resist its inhuman desires while trying to live as a normal human being.  He later works as a part-time waiter at the Antique Café under Yoshimura's sponsorship.  After his confrontation with Detective Amon and his defeat, he becomes known among the ghouls and is nicknamed "the ogre with the eye patch".  Kaneki loves to read and has a quiet nature, but he trusts strangers easily, which sometimes puts him in danger.  After being kidnapped by an ogre organization known as the "Augiri Tree", one of its members tortures him mercilessly and continuously.  During his torture, Kaneki experiences hallucinations in which Rize makes fun of his mother's life and weakness, which leads him to accept his ghoul side.  Kaneki's perspective on power changes, and he goes on his path to gaining power by devouring other ghouls.
