The film was released on July 19, 2019, and one day after its release, a new novel by Makoto Shinkai was published, and it was one of his original works.  The manga from which the film was adapted, had been released a few days before the film's date in the monthly Kodansha magazine, and that was specifically on July 25, 2019. The film was selected among the films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.]  3]  This film is the first Japanese anime to be nominated in this category after Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke in 1998.[4]  [5] The film also received four Annie Award nominations including Best Independent Animated Feature, making it the third anime film after Kidnapped (2001 film) and the Millennium Actress to receive four nominations, the highest for an anime film at the Annie Awards.  6]

 The film also managed to reach the sixth place as the highest-grossing anime film in the history of Japanese cinema.[7]  The movie earned nearly ¥14 billion, or $181.7 million, and thus became the most profitable anime movie in 2019 after being surpassed by Detective Conan 23 (Azure Fist).[8][9] The film also occupied these revenues.  It ranks sixth in the list of the highest-grossing anime films.

Your Name (Japanese: 君の名は。, romaji: Kimi no na wa.) is a 2016 Japanese anime film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai in collaboration with CoMix Wave Films, and produced by Noritaka Kawaguchi and Genki Kawamura.  The film is based on Shinkai's novel of the same name, which was released one month before the film's release.  The film revolves around a girl who lives in a Japanese village and a boy who lives in Tokyo, who somehow exchange their bodies.  Co-voices: Ryunosuke Kamiki, Muni Kamishiraishi, Masami Nagasawa, and Itsuko Ishihara.
